Gilbey's Dry Gin

The famous recipe for Gilbey’s® Gin was born in the 19th Century in England. It became such a popular gin throughout the world that a license to produce it in the United States was granted in 1938.

A classic juniper-led London Dry Gin from Gilbey's. The brand was founded in London in 1857 by brothers Walter and Albert Gilbeys in the basement of a retail shop on Oxford Street.

Gilbey’s Gin is a traditional London Dry Gin that is light and easy to drink. The juniper base adds a subtle, smoky flavor to it making it very palatable. Gilbey's Gin is a delicate blend of 12 natural ingredients to achieve the ideal mix of complexity and balance to deliver a smoother, tangy, refreshingly dry gin with a hint of citrus that's the perfect choice anywhere, anytime.

In making a fine London Dry Gin such as Gilbey’s, the fermentation process is key like in whisky production. The fundamental difference is that the congeners, the natural taste elements that are so necessary to Bourbon and Scotch are absent. Instead, gin’s flavor is introduced to the alcohol when it is in a vaporous form and made to pass through a “filter” of juniper berries, herbs, and spices.
