SBL Mobilizes Dodoma Leaders and Residents to Plant Trees.

Serengeti Breweries Limited (SBL) in early July joined residents and leaders from the Dodoma region to plant trees at Mirembe National Hospital in an effort to combat aridity in Tanzania's central region for the second time in less than a year.

Among dozens of key leaders who took part in the tree planting exercise were Hon Anthony Mavunde, Deputy Minister for Agriculture and area Member of Parliament. The function was also attended by members of the military and staff of Mirembe National Hospital led by facility Secretary Jackson Mjinja.

Tree planting in Dodoma is part of SBL's ongoing environmental conservation effort which aims to plant millions of trees across the country, according to Managing Director Mark Ocitti. In 2019, SBL planted trees in the Same and Moshi districts in the effort to increase vegetation cover around Mount Kilimanjaro.
